I've been at a cabin. A one room cabin with just what I needed and it was also just what I needed. It took me a few days to get into nature's rhythm. When it was dark I went to bed. When the sun came up I got up. I went swimming when it was warm and it was! I went canoeing when it was calm. I went walking when it was cool. I read books inside when there were bugs. Now this is what I call a vacation!
I loved just listening to nature. The cabin was by a huge cliff and the eagles played on days that it was windy. One young bird would grab a tuft from a high tree and play with it. His brothers and sisters would spin and twirl and glide. I watched them for hours until my eyes got tired. I loved finding out what they were doing without being told how they do things. It looked like play so that is what it was for me.
Another day a bobcat came to visit. A most beautiful fluffy creature with huge paws and stubby tail. He was as curious about me as I was about him (or her). I backed away he came forward. I went forward he backed away. We bonded.
What more is there to do on a summer day?
