Silence

I am leading a day of silence today at the yoga studio. I am so looking forward to it. A bit of introduction and then we will get comfortable and meditate, perhaps walk a little in silence, meditate, eat together, meditate, walk, have some fruit and tea, meditate, and finally just share together the experience of the day before we head back home to our families. It is a beautiful way to unwind. So much can happen doing so little.

Just to stop talking for a while each day helps to silence the mind from it's same old thoughts. You can do that any day at home. No talking for an hour or so. No phone calls, no email, no books, no radio, no television, no talking to anyone in the house, even the cat. By not talking we preserve energy. And we won't be quarreling with anybody. :)
